Helium(He)

High-purity helium (He) for MRI cryogenics, leak detection, welding shielding, and semiconductor manufacturing.

Helium is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, and non-flammable noble gas with the lowest critical temperature of any known substance, making it the most difficult gas to liquefy. As an inert gas with extremely low chemical activity, it is non-combustible and does not support combustion. Helium is found in air at approximately 5.2 parts per million, but its extraction is costly. Liquid helium, with its extremely low boiling point of -268.9°C, is essential for ultra-low temperature cooling in MRI systems, scientific research, and superconducting applications. Helium also serves as a shielding gas in welding, a carrier gas in analytical chromatography, a pressurizing gas for rocket fuel tanks, a trace gas for leak detection, and a purge gas in semiconductor manufacturing, typically transported as a compressed gas or refrigerated liquid.
